Canada’s building sector is at the halfway point of a decisive decade. Evolving energy codes, climate-related risks, and decarbonization targets are reshaping how building owners and investors plan, operate, and protect asset value.
The Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC), together with project partner Real Property Association of Canada (REALPAC), will officially launch two new industry-driven resources designed to help existing building owners navigate this transition with confidence:
- CAGBC’s Zero Carbon Transition Planning Guide, and
- REALPAC’s Climate-Related Risk Playbooks for Office, Retail, Industrial, and Multi-Unit Residential Buildings.
This webinar offers an exclusive first look at how these resources were developed through extensive industry consultation, what they include, and how they can be applied to real-world asset management and investment decisions.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of why transition planning is a business imperative and how these tools support compliance with the regional high-performance requirements.
The session will also preview CAGBC’s and REALPAC’s upcoming in-person Transition Planning Now workshops rolling out across Canada, designed to help owners, managers, and project teams apply these tools in practice.
Learning objectives:
- Understanding the need for transition planning
- Understanding the tools available to help strategically plan decarbonization interventions for your assets and portfolio
