Edmonton Knowledge Exchange

December 2 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Free

Join us for our next in-person Knowledge Exchange in Edmonton, where we’ll explore how affordability and sustainability can advance together in Alberta’s construction sector. This breakfast session will bring together builders, developers, architects, engineers and other industry leaders for an interactive workshop on real-world strategies to accelerate low-carbon construction and adoption in Alberta.

Our featured speaker, David Messer, Executive Director of the Climate Smart Buildings Alliance, will talk about three initiatives:

  • Climate and Consumer Smart Living Lab – a partnership with NRC and leading developers testing low-carbon technologies and materials in real projects.
  • Ottawa Office Retrofit Financing Pilot – an initiative connecting owners, insurers, and financiers to identify the market and policy tools needed to scale deep retrofits.
  • The Responsible Buildings Pact – a cross-industry agreement that’s accelerating the use of low-carbon materials through practical and cost-effective approaches.

Following each short presentation, participants will be able to reflect on this work in Alberta and discuss how ENBIX can facilitate these discussions with tangible outcomes, such as Alberta-specific opportunities, challenges, and actions to support more sustainable construction.

Agenda:

  •  7:45 AM – Registration
  • 8:00 AM – Breakfast
  • 8:30 AM – Presentation & Workshop
  • 10:00 AM – Wrap-up
