BEAM (Building Emissions Accounting for Materials) is a tool developed by Builders for Climate Action to estimate and compare the embodied carbon of materials used in residential buildings. It supports practitioners in making lower-carbon material choices by helping them better understand the climate impacts of construction.
Learn how to use BEAM directly from the team that built it. This live, online course is delivered over three sessions and provides a practical introduction to embodied carbon, why it’s important to measure, and step-by-step guidance on using BEAM.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to integrate embodied carbon analysis into your work.
This free training is offered as a part of Alberta Ecotrust Foundation’s “Getting to Zero Research Program”.
In order to be eligible for this training, the majority of your work must take place in Alberta.
BEAM Training Dates:
- Thursday, April 16, 11:00 AM-12:30 PM MST
- Thursday, April 23, 11:00 AM-12:30 PM MST
