The Deep Retrofit Discovery Sessions are a series of free public information sessions to help address deep energy retrofits of large, part 3 buildings in Alberta. Located in the heart of downtown Calgary, the Glenbow is targeting a 2027 reopening in its revitalized home, the JR Shaw Centre for Arts & Culture.
Working with project partners, Glenbow has considered future climate-related risks, integrated energy savings, and greenhouse gas reductions measures into the building’s design to improve long term resilience and performance. Take a peak behind the curtain to learn all about Glenbow’s deep energy retrofit, including a new building envelope and modernized mechanical systems. These upgrades target 38% reduction in annual energy use and 41% reduction in greenhouse gas reductions. Read more about the retrofit here.
SAIT and Alberta Ecotrust, along with experts from DIALOG, RJC Engineers, Entuitive, and Smith + Andersen, will co-host this information session and tour.
Space is limited to 15 attendees. If the event is full, please add yourself to the waitlist. The information session will be recorded and published to the ENBIX resource library after the event for those that are unable to make it in person.
Note, as this site is still under active construction, attendees will be required to sign a waiver in order to participate. However personal protective equipment (PPE) is not required.
