As part of the Alberta Ecotrust Foundation’s DRAI project, SAIT led a comprehensive market analysis focused on commercial deep energy retrofits, intended to inform policy, workforce development, and investment strategies that will accelerate deep energy retrofits in Alberta’s Part 3 building sector. Working with partners WSP and RFS Energy, this year-long research generated valuable insights into the retrofit market across Alberta and Canada.
Join us for the sixth Discovery Session, where our partners will present their findings, including:
- A review of current codes and regulatory considerations for deep retrofits, including an overview of the new 2025 Alberta Energy Code for Buildings updatesÂ
- Emerging retrofit technologies and anticipated market skills gaps needed to deliver deep energy retrofits at scaleÂ
- Market incentives available for commercial building retrofitsÂ
- A jurisdictional scan highlighting leading practices from other provincesÂ
- Analysis of training opportunities supported by a new visualization toolÂ
A portion of this work has already been summarized in publicly accessible reports and databases on the ENBIX Resource webpage:Â
Training and Skills Development DatabaseÂ
